Sewing newbie. [Wednesday]
[ mood | anxious ]

Don't you just enjoy the maddening PINK?! It's not as if I'm a preppy obsessed fan, but I do believe the color schmes work really well for the Ouran Host Club. I'm sure a light blue could have had the same affect, but I wasn't the one who made it and who knows, perhaps I'll change it again.

I can't make it to my sewing class, which bites, but because I have a really simple pattern such as a nurse shirt and scrub pants I've decided just to do it by myself and learn my own way along the process. Experience is learning right? I have such a great friend, whose name will go unmentioned because I feel the need too do so, but she's awesome in the aspect that she's patient with me and doesn't mind sharing a few secrets. I've read about a million post from cosplayers who will say "The iron is your best friend" and I sort of believe that.

I still haven't lost the fear that my first shirt will be a disaster ;.; so I cry in the process.. It's really tedious at times though, all the pinning and ironing, cutting and preparation just takes forever. e.e I give my credit to those guys who do work really hard or for that matter, sew their own costumes!

My goal is to cosplay Konohamaru, I'm hoping my car will be fixed so that I can not only have it for the anime expo, but also so I can work and save up the cash for it. His outfit - pattern wise, looks really simple and because I have a lot of dummy material, I can make a bunch of mistakes before attempting the real one.

I did end up converting an old pair of jeans into those jean skirts - the kind you see chicks walking around with half the time in Southern Cali, but it didn't come out too well. It would if I just added lace over the mistakes and such <_< oh well. I bent one too many needles jamming in the wrong material. xD I WANT TO GET BETTER but ah I still make ameature mistakes ;.; forgive me sewing god or goddess that watches over mee. Thankfully I found  a secluded store about a mile or so away soo I can buy extras. Sigh, but don't correct me! I know why it jammed and I won't make that mistake ever again.
